Why Vinyl Liner?
Vinyl pools are a great choice for pool owners because they are low maintenance, durable, easy to clean, and require fewer chemicals. They have a smooth, nonporous surface that resists algae growth. Vinyl pools are generally more affordable to install compared to concrete or fiberglass pools.
Why Fiberglass?
Fiberglass pools are made of a strong and durable material that can withstand harsh weather conditions and extreme temperatures. They are less likely to crack or fade over time compared to other pool materials like vinyl or concrete. Fiberglass pools are pre-built in a factory and then delivered to your home for installation. This means you can have your pool up and running in a matter of days, rather than weeks or months.
Why Gunite?
Gunite pools are the most valuable and long-lasting option. They can withstand seasonal and climatic soil changes, including thawing and freezing. Gunite pools are incredibly durable and do not require a liner. They’re versatile for design and durable for longevity. Gunite pools can be made on-site which allows for more flexibility and is easier to install.
F.A.Q
How long does it take to build a swimming pool?
Typically, it takes 6-8 weeks for most vinyl pool installs, Fiberglass pools may be less, and concrete pools tend to take much longer due to the intricacies of the build along with the additional inspections necessary. Some other factors that can delay your pool installation are weather, size, features, and the necessary inspections required.
Does the pool come with a warranty?
Yes, ALL new pool builds come with a 1-year workmanship warranty and all equipment warranties are to be submitted and maintained by the customer, so that any repairs or replacements can be tracked by the homeowner.
How often should I test the pool water?
This is probably the most common pool care question we hear daily, and for good reason. Testing and balancing pool water is one of the most important aspects of pool maintenance. The answer for water testing frequency depends on a number of factors, including temperature, pool size, number of swimmers, and how frequently the pool is used. Warmer temperatures and higher usage require more frequent testing.
During the peak of swimming season, the average pool should be tested for sanitizer levels and pH balance at least two or three times per week. Test for total alkalinity (TA) at least once per week. Other aspects of water chemistry, including calcium hardness (CH), cyanuric acid (CYA), total dissolved solids (TDS), and the presence of metals and phosphates can be tested less frequently, at least once per month. The same holds true for salt levels in salt water pools, which aren’t as prone to rapid fluctuations. If you have a bunch of guests over, additional testing may be needed before and after the pool party
How do I balance my pool water?
The first step in balancing pool water is to test it. There are many ways to test pool water, including test strips, liquid or titration test kits, or you can take a sample in for testing at your local pool supply store. Make sure the levels are within the following recommended ranges:
- Free Available Chlorine (FAC): 1-4 parts per million (PPM)
- Total Available Chlorine (TAC): 1-4 PPM, within 0.2 PPM of FAC
- Bromine: 2-8 PPM
- Biguanide: 30-50 PPM
- pH: 7.4-7.6
- Total Alkalinity (TA): 80-120 PPM
- Calcium Hardness (CH): 200-400 PPM
- Cyanuric Acid (CYA): 30-100 PPM (80-100 PPM for salt pools)
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): Less than 2500 PPM
- Metals (Copper/Iron): 0 PPM
- Phosphates: 0 PPM
- Salt: 2700-3400 PPM
Will you demonstrate how to operate and maintain our equipment?
Yes, we offer Pool School at the end of each build. Which we go over the operation of your equipment along with basic pool chemistry. For any questions not covered during our Pool School we are always available to answer questions or assist with any pool re-education. The success of our Pool Owners is a direct reflection of the work we do at Southern Scape Construction.

“10 out of 10 recommend!”
“Ethan pretty much does it all! We have been so impressed by his work and his communication and attention to detail. We had the hardest time getting a project complete due to the company going out of business, and he jumped right in and made it better than I ever even expected. Since then, he has done multiple projects for us including landscaping, patio, water features, door installs, and more. There is no one else we would go with and he’s the nicest most easy-going guy. 10 out of 10 recommend!”

“professional, knowledgeable and great to work with!”
“We heard of Ethan through a friend, at a time when we were working with an unreliable pool installer. Ethan was able to quickly pick up on the job that was partially started (and a bit messed up from the previous installer) and finish in good time with great results. He and his team were courteous, professional, knowledgeable and great to work with! We appreciate the great job Ethan did and would certainly recommend him to others”

“He was very professional and understanding”
“We started out with another builder and had SO many issues. Ethan reached out to us and came to Pulaski, TN to look over our situation. He agreed to finish the job and had to fix several issues from previous builder. He was very professional and understanding to our situation. Not only did he finish the job but also came back at the end of the season to close my pool! He was also gracious enough to agree to open this season but I found someone local to do this. I would definitely recommend Ethan for anyone building a pool”
